Summary
Día de los Inocentes meant the world to Ella Lopez after she nearly died as a child. But, after all the bad things, she's lost her faith, and so she's not psyched when her brother Jay shows up to celebrate. Lucifer seems like a perfect buffer, but she ends up learning more than she expects about her friend.
“So what is your deal?” Ella asked. “I mean, I always assumed most of what you say is because of your part thingy or whatever, but . . . do you believe? I mean really? I didn’t mean to offend you . . .”
Lucifer shook his head. “It’s not really a matter of belief when you know it’s true.”
Of course, she thought. He never broke character. “I just feel like I lost something, you know?”

Summary
Lucifer Morningstar never rebelled, never fell, and never became the Devil. As one of Heaven's most trusted angels, Samael, his purpose is to guide lost souls toward redemption.
Samael encounters Detective Chloe Decker while she investigates what appears to be an ordinary murder. To him, however, the victim's soul is tangled in a web of guilt, regret, and unfinished business. Intrigued by Chloe's relentless pursuit of justice, he begins assisting her investigations.
In a world where Lucifer remained Heaven's favored son, the greatest test of his faith is not resisting darkness, but learning why darkness exists.

Summary
Lucifer Morningstar is a man of his word.
When he made a promise to Chloe that he would tell her everything, he meant it.
Even if he's not sure what that means anymore.
(Or the one where Lucifer wakes up in the middle of the desert with two feathered monstrosities attached to his back, even though he totally didn't ask.)
