In the spring, pink blossoms sprawl across the ground, bringing life and color to roads that were covered in snow only a few weeks prior. Sidewalks and street corners are bathed in warmth as far as the light can reach, and there, in the air, is that sense of beginnings anew –– that washing away of the old.
When Iwaizumi moves to California for his year abroad, he finds that the world continues to spin.
When he moves back to Miyagi after his year abroad without Oikawa by his side, he finds that the world continues to spin in spite of that, too.

They were so intertwined, never knowing where one ended and the other began. and now they shine equally as bright but in different ways. And Oikawa has always loved like a supernova and Iwaizumi has always loved like the calm after a storm, but for them it has always worked; it will always work when, at the end of the day, no matter how far and no matter how much time has passed between them, Oikawa can stretch his arms out and find Iwaizumi at the end of them and know they will always be together, apart.
Like the shoreline holds the ocean, waves cast back and forth against the sand, their love withstands the storms, the seasons, the distance.
That will never change.

“I’m very glad you asked, Yahaba-chan.” Oikawa says, tone grave, which leads Kyoutani to believe this is either completely serious or not serious at all (the way Iwaizumi staunchly refuses to look their way leads him, once again, to strongly suspect the latter).
This belief is only further emphasized when the captain leans forward conspiratorially and smiles. “Two words.” to stress his point, he holds up fingers in trademark v. “Double. Date.”
And then he leans back, grin broad as if he’d just explained the purpose of the universe, and somewhere in between the quiet and the physically painful awkward Iwaizumi mutters “I’m going to kick your ass.”
Oikawa and Iwaizumi go on a double date with Kyoutani and Yahaba.
