Summary
When Dean’s engagement breaks off three days before Christmas, he’s left with nobody to accompany him on a road trip to his family’s mountain log cabin. His best friend Castiel happens to be available, and is willing to help him through a tough time. But when Dean's mother and brother arrive, expecting to meet the person Dean plans to marry, they understandably assume Castiel is Dean's fiancé. After a weekend of comfortable domesticity, sharing clothes, intimate conversations, and definitely-one-time-only therapy sex, it feels almost too easy for Dean and Cas to fake a loving, romantic relationship. The hard part is going back to being friends afterwards. They can’t keep their hands off each other, and they’ve discovered some fun things to do together which they’d never tell another soul about. And, oh boy, feelings. Now being ‘just friends’ is so impossible, it seems as if fate had another plan for them all along...

Summary
All his life Dean’s been a dragon trainer, but necessity forces him to accept a new job as personal guard to Princes Castiel and Jimmy. It’s not all bad though: the pay and benefits are great, he still has time to spend with his dragon Impala and brother Sam, and he’s been friends with the twins for years. When Dean learns that the twins are actually together, well, that’s when things start to get interesting.
Aside from being in a relationship, the twins also have a friendly rivalry going. Every time foreign nobles and dignitaries come to visit, they compete to see who can seduce them first. Which is fine, it’s none of Dean’s business anyway. He’s certainly not jealous. Of course not. Okay, maybe a little.
Once the twins realize Dean returns their interest in him, they can abandon the competition and the solution for their pining becomes obvious: seduce Dean Winchester.

What do you get when you add Firefighter!Dean to standoffish-Doctor!Castiel?
A thousand other fics, you say?
Aaaand what’s your point exactly??!?!
Dean likes his doctor, but his doctor doesn’t like him.
Accidental friendship ensues, heartwarming bonding type moments occur, and oops!friends become best!friends.
But best friends aren’t supposed to feel the way Dean feels about Castiel. He knows this. So he ignores all the things that he can’t help feeling. When he sits and watches a movie with his best friend or when they are arguing about which method of coffee brewing is best, he pointedly doesn’t look at his friends lips, or the adorable way he tilts his head when he doesn’t understand.
Dean ignores his feelings.
That’s the way he knows how to keep his best friend.
Just ignore the butterflies.
