This is a work site.” He tapped the spoon on the edge of the glass, setting it aside to offer Kiryu one wagging finger along with his freshly made drink. “Safety first!”A Kiwami 2 era short in which Kiryu is annoyed by Majima's construction helmet and insists he should take it off. Haruka is privy to some very secret and really, super, extra personal information. Kiryu had confided it in her as a metaphorical token of the implicit trust between them. He definitely hadn't stoically nodded his head and simply answered 'yup' the very first time she had asked him 'Uncle Kaz, do you like-like the weird guy that's always trying to fight you?' In his defense, he’d been working his way through a bottle of breakfast whiskey at three-eleven in the afternoon, barely two weeks after he'd identified all of his loved ones in the morgue.
Look, not everyone can be a dad on day one. He's forgiven himself. More or less. It made sense that there had been a learning curve, and of course it had been followed by a grieving curve, and it was just bad luck that it happened to coincide with a drowning-his-sorrows curve. (And then, finally, a karaoke curve… which Haruka had loved!)
Anyways, it hasn't been easy, but he's doing his best.
