Karen has known Henry Spencer for some time now, having transferred to Santa Barbara as a young detective just a few months before he retired. They worked together on a case or two, and at police events they say polite hellos and make small talk. Hell, he even sent her a card when she got married congratulating her. In the time that she’s known Henry, she’s heard plenty of exasperatedly told stories about the son who left home to aimlessly travel and never hold down a real job.
So the second that Shawn starts waving his arms around and claiming that the spirits are speaking to him, she knows 100%, without a doubt, that he is lying.
