    Summary

Brasso was twenty then. Learning his way around his dad’s repair shop, running errands for his mother, and from that point forward, running meals over to Maarva’s house a couple times a month, when his mother and the rest of the Daughters started to intuit (accurately, he decided) that Maarva was beginning to find their fussing overbearing and suffocating.

She tolerated him at first, if only because he was someone new, and then he came back two days later with a couple of replacement coils for her heater and a better tool for cleaning out B2EMO’s treads and he seemed to move up greatly in her estimation, from polite tolerance to, “Come back soon, and I’ll show you how a linbok stew is meant to taste,” and if Brasso strategically chose to never relay that to his mother, well, she’d always said he had the best head on his shoulders of all his siblings.

About the Nauglamír and the other side of the story. Of culture clash, betrayal, and lost art.

    #
“Do you know, Gimli, I would be happy to hear about your people’s memory of the Great Necklace, and the terrible dispute that led to the sack of Doriath. It was a tragedy of deep import."

Gimli grew serious; he sat up and looked at Elrond for a long moment with grave, dark eyes. “Forgive me, Lord Elrond, but I don’t think you would. Be happy, I mean, when you heard our account of the thing."

“Hey, Choso,” Yuuji says, glancing up from his hand of cards. “Got any sevens?”

Choso frowns, picking through his own card deck one-by-one to evaluate each one. “No, I don’t. What am I supposed to say again?”

    “Go fish.”

    Choso nods. “Go fish.”

    “Dang.”

(Yuuji wakes up back at the college. He gets to know a little about this person named Choso.)

    Summary

“Satoru?” The word rings, fuzzy in his ears as it whines like tinnitus, familiar and heart stopping.

‘I’m dead.’ He can’t even hear his own thoughts over the loudness of the world, staggering where he stands, eyes still fixated on the sky, on the sun. ‘I’m dead, I died, I felt my heart stop, this can’t be, it can’t-’

“Hey,” it comes again, a little more urgent than before, a little closer, another hammer to his ears and all the noise shrieking behind his eyes. He recoils hard enough to go stumbling as a hand reaches for him, covered in flesh rather than empty bone, tan and recognizable. Unbelievable.

There’s something wet trickling from his nose. Bile stings on the back of his tongue. The words dissolve into the rest of the white noise as he stares up at the blue of the sky, and tries to remember if he’d ever had a hallucination as bright as this.

‘I have to be dead,’ he thinks. Somehow, he isn’t.

Or: Gojo Satoru goes back in time. He makes a couple of changes for the better.

Poe guesses he’s a little fucked-up now, more than before. He certainly has a lot of nightmares. He tries to take it in stride. It doesn’t really surprise him. What had he expected? (Dead, he thinks. You expected to be dead.)
