“Someone from the Bowers gang was arrested,” Stan replied. “Victor Criss. They’re trying to keep it under wraps, because he’s too important to the gang, and losing him even temporarily would render them a lot more vulnerable than losing an associate or even a soldier.”
“And that’s relevant to us how?” Eddie didn’t need to look to know Stan was rolling his eyes.
“They’re gonna come to us. Ask for bail money or maybe to get rid of charges entirely. They know full well we got the police in our pocket. And we need to be ready, Richie,” Stan’s last sentence was almost strained, like he knew Richie wouldn't take his point seriously enough. Well, Eddie couldn’t blame him for thinking that was a possibility.
“Don’t worry, Stan the Man, we’ll be ready,” Richie chuckled, making Stan sigh a little.

“Eds…” Richie breathed, tears streaming down his cheeks. “Oh my god Eds.” Ignoring the fact that he had just vomited all over the floor next to his bed, Richie lunged at Eddie, wrapping him up in a hug as he sobbed into his neck. “Oh Eddie, you’re here, you’re alive! I’m not- dreaming am I?”
Eddie’s body sagged a little as the words registered in his brain and a hang was brought up to lace through Richie’s curls. “Richie, babe, look at me.” Richie did, pulling back and looking at Eddie desperately. “Did you dream about it again? About what you saw in the deadlights?”

A shaky breath escapes him and he turns his face more fully into Eddie’s shoulder so the other Losers can’t see the tears easily pouring down his cheeks and wetting Eddie’s shirt.
“Richie, honey..” Bev whispers, hand gently coming to squeeze his shoulder.
“What?” He croaks, and Bev leans down so she can press a light kiss to the side of Richie’s head, wrapping her arms more fully around him. He leans his cheek into hers when she bumps them together, and she sighs softly as she squeezes him.
