He nods, before carefully reaching out and placing a hand on Izuku's shoulder. “I'm here to listen, if you want it.”
“It's..” Izuku is still tense, but he feels Shoto's fingers aimlessly comb through his hair and he caves. “It feels like I haven't helped anyone at all.”
“What do you mean?” Shoto questions, “You've helped plenty of people.”
“I don't know ..” Izuku whispers. “I couldn't save Kacchan during the camp, and then I couldn't save Nighteye.. I'm a hero, but it feels like I keep failing.”
