    Summary

Wallace Wells is loud, obnoxious and bossy. He’s known for hit classics such as; ‘Singing At The Top Of His Lungs To Lady Gaga At 5am,’ ‘Waiting In The Dark For His Roommate To Come Home Later Than Expected,’ and, ‘Hanging The Stars In The Sky Of Scott Pilgrim’s Universe’ (and honourable mention: ‘Fearing Losing What Matters Most To Him, Therefore, The Best Possible Course Of Action Is To Cut Him Out Of His Life First.’) Wallace Wells is far from perfect, yet, no matter what, Scott finds every door to a new chapter of his life holds him, and he wouldn’t have it any other way – till he would.

Julie Powers, a.k.a. Queen Bitch, to the shock and horror of everyone (ever, in the history of the entire world, and, dare I say, the entire universe), confesses to Scott. Scott. Pilgrim.

From that moment on Scott’s life begins to crumble, his sense of identity stripped from him. And what of his best friend? Well, he’s nowhere to be found. Scott is alone and afraid. All he wants is to know who he is and if Wallace stands behind the door of this chapter.

    Summary

The process of Wallace realising that his friendship with Scott is draining him in more ways than one. He'd always known that they would be nothing more than platonic, even if they sleep in the same bed, and cuddle more often than not, and it's starting to scare off some of Wallace's flings but that's only because they've all got the wrong end of the stick.
The bottom line is that Wallace is at the end of his rope, and he's only able to admit these things to himself because maybe it's time to move on.
But then why is Scott so insistent on making it difficult for him with all of these mixed signals.

    Summary

“Do guys ever want to experiment…after uni?” he asked meekly. He couldn’t help but hold Wallace’s stare, though it was growing more intense by the second. Christ, he just had something for people who could stare him down like they couldn’t decide whether to punch him or tear his clothes off.

“All the time,” Wallace said flatly. “Why?”

“Just curious,” Scott said, finally breaking the staring contest to stare instead at his hands in his lap. “You said they usually turn out gay?”

“Not always,” Wallace said, and Scott could feel the ulterior motives radiating off of him. Well, was mutual attraction really all that sneaky, all that perverse?

    Summary

“We could try something,” Wallace said. “But you’re going to think it’s pretty gay.”

Scott couldn’t help but laugh a little at that, and some of the tension seemed to leave Wallace’s face as well. “Try me,” Scott said goodnaturedly.

“There’s this thing called shotgunning,” Wallace said. “Pretty much, one person breathes in a hit, and then, they breathe out the secondhand into the other person’s mouth. It’s less harsh after it’s been in someone else’s lungs, in my experience.”

That didn’t sound incredibly gay to Scott. Sure, a little, especially if the lips touched, but really, it was smart—weed could get expensive, Scott imagined, and that’s a two-for-one deal. Twice the amount of high people. Genius, really.

So, he said so: “Makes sense. That’s just practical.”

Wallace’s eyebrows, though mostly obscured by his bangs, absolutely raised. “I’m glad you think so,” he said slowly.

    ———

Scott and Wallace attend a totally-not-gay house party and engage in some totally-not-gay shotgunning.
