Summary
He's got a week off of work, an inability to hunch or twist his torso in any meaningful way, and a pitiful attitude about the whole thing. At least he’s got a medic for a roommate, Eddie had said. Buck isn’t so sure there are any bright sides at the moment.
Which is how he’s found himself, every night for the past few days, with Eddie kneeling on the bathroom floor, crouched between Buck’s open thighs—while Buck perches on the sink feeling mortifyingly exposed in only a hoodie and his boxers—in order to let Eddie clean and re-dress the inconveniently located stitches.
Buck has been perfectly normal about this.

His eyes flutter open.
Eddie—propped up on an elbow, chin and cheek in hand above Buck—grins lazily down at him.
”Hey there, Sleeping Beauty,” he says, fond and amused.
Rolling his head to the side, Buck looks down at himself, lying flat on his back in bed, half under the covers, he squints, looks back up at Eddie, then realizes—
“Did I fall asleep on you?”
Eddie snorts, fingertips resuming their mindless patterns over Buck’s chest, “For a little bit there, yeah,”
“While your hand was still on my dick?” Buck looks back down at himself, incredulous.

Summary
Eddie wakes up disoriented.
He’s on Buck’s sofa, blanket kicked halfway off—because the house is warmer than he used to keep it, knows Buck runs cold—it’s still dark, and he’s not sure what woke him up.
He checks his phone, squinting at the light: it’s just past three in the morning. Huffing an annoyed breath at himself, Eddie drops his head back down onto his borrowed pillow. His alarm won’t go off for another five hours.
They don’t even need to be up that early. He and Chris won’t have to be at Burbank until midafternoon, they just wanted to have the morning with Buck before heading—
Heading back to Texas.

”Oh,” Marisol says.
”Oh,” Buck echoes, “uh,”
“Um—,” she suddenly looks very alarmed, gaze flicking over her shoulder, scanning the bar, and Buck realizes—
“He’s uh, he’s not here,” he rushes to say.
Her wide eyes land back on his, blinking away her own shock, but clearly still at a loss.
”He’s…,” Buck finds himself continuing, “he’s not here. Anymore. Moved back to Texas. You’re good,”

eddie’s in texas, buck’s handling it poorly. he runs into marisol. turns out the two of them have a few bad decisions of their own to make.

Summary
The muffled, scraping sound of a key in the lock is what finally catches his attention.
Buck can’t even find it in himself to react. He’s nauseous and in so much pain that, at this point, embarrassment isn’t even close to being on the menu. He can’t go anywhere anyway, so he simply waits to be found.
It’s Eddie, because of course it’s Eddie.
