Chunks of beef and pale spaghetti noodles clog the kitchen sink. With the chipped nail of her index finger, Petra digs out the sludge. The bottom of the sink is stained with dried NyQuil. She thinks of a map, the red spots like archipelagos surrounded by a dirty meat-ball ocean. A treasure map for her hang-over. Can you locate the mess? Is that clump all spaghetti or a tinted mixture of vomit and meatballs?
She turns on the faucet and the water comes down scalding on her knuckles. It tingles before it burns.
