Summary
Dick has, by all accounts, lost two father figures in the span of as many years. Damian is trying his best to raise the boy, but he doesn't know if he deserves to consider himself Dick's father, or if Dick even wants him to step into that role. He would do anything for Dick, of course. That's all that matters, right?

Birds chirp in the trees, but no footsteps creak over wood floors in the house. It’s all wrong. Jeonghan is still full from last night. He’ll stay full for a day or two more. A parting gift from Seungcheol to tide him over.
Once upon a time, Jeonghan would have said that his love language is total sacrifice. A facetious joke, fingers running through Seungcheol’s hair as he lounged on his lap, talking to a group of their friends. Seungcheol would do anything for him, everyone always said that. Jeonghan would smile, and Seungcheol would bloom like a sunflower into his direction.
“Total sacrifice,” Jeonghan would say, and Seungkwan would roll his eyes. Reply, “Yeah, right. You act like you’d be able to live without him.” Everyone would laugh.

Bucky is fine. Really. He’s had therapy, he talks to Sam. He’s had plenty of time to settle down and focus on getting better.
Except, now he’s part of a team, a family, and when things happen, they look to him.
And sure, he wouldn’t mind taking a minute to himself, those shame rooms hurt a little more than he’d care to admit. But there’s no time for that with all of this new responsibility.
So, his nightmares are back, sure, he’s used to them. And no more therapy, no time. And oh? Sam doesn’t want to talk anymore? Okay that’s fine. He’s back in the middle of all the chaos? Cool sure.
And as for focusing on himself and his own health? Okay let’s be honest, when did he ever do that?
Or, Bob has a bad night, and Bucky’s the only one around to help. Unfortunately, they end up in Bucky’s shame rooms instead. But that’s okay, cause Bucky’s totally over it now. Totally.

Cas starts to laugh.
A confused question is on the tip of Sam's tongue, but then he looks up. And Cas is smiling, in a way both gentle and pleased with himself, and Sam feels a cold horror all the way to his bones because it doesn't matter whose face it's on, that expression is horrifyingly familiar. No villain monologue required, no big reveal necessary. Sam knows.
"I will touch your soul," Lucifer says, "because you asked so nicely for it, Sam. Thank you." He's still smiling as he reaches out a hand. Sam flinches away, scrambling back until he's backed against the closest pillar, eyes locked on the being that was his world and his agony for five hundred years.
The Morningstar reaches for Sam's soul, and once again, He is his agony. He is his world.
