“Oh thank God,” Marcy breathes. Somewhere in the vicinity of the call she can hear what sounds like a struggle. Someone yells and another person screams in pain. “We, uh, we need you to come in. Like, as fast as you can.”
Anne blinks.
“Marcy, you know that I don’t do that,” she starts, “We’ve been over this. Your work stays at work and I’m not getting involved with it just because your boss thinks-”
Marcy growls in frustration and something behind her in the call shrieks. The sound is eerily familiar and the goosebumps running up Anne’s spine can’t seem to decide why.
“What the fuck is that?!”
“That!” Marcy growls, “Is why I need you here. Goddamnit, Anne, they found her!”
Anne is still lost.
“Found who?!”
“Sasha!”

Story title is based on the Korean song 'Bittersweet' by Wonwoo and Mingyu (from SEVENTEEN) feat. Lee Hi. The meaning of the song may/may not be related to the story.
Set a few years after they got back to Earth from saving Amphibia on ‘The Hardest Thing’. During Anne’s 2nd year in University, a former classmate calls her and she gets invited to a class reunion. Sasha and Marcy seem to have been invited as well, but only one of them shows up.
Lots of realizations, ponderings, and discussions regarding the past few years they’ve been apart.
In the end, Anne needs to decide on how she wants her future to look like.

Summary
**MAJOR SPOILERS for The Hardest Thing and the rest of Amphibia**
The Three-Stones-Deity is not infallible. In ten thousand years of existence, only once had someone used their stones for good. That lone person had further still proved their thinking flawed upon being offered what was essentially godhood. They had even undershot their corporeal representation by a few decades for Frog’s sake. So it was not exactly a surprise when there was a minor hiccup with returning Anne Boonchuy to Amphibia. As promised, the Three-Stones-Deity did return her to the world she loved so dearly, but then why was it so different than she remembered? Remnants of the Core are not raining down on Amphibia. Her closest friends and frog family are nowhere to be seen when they were surely gathered around her just moments ago. Newtopia has been fully rebuilt… and it’s five years later?!
Or, the Three-Stones-Deity messed up when sending Anne back to Amphibia. Instead of returning her immediately, they accidentally placed her five years into the future.
