It's not even his fault, really—it's just hard to care about putting in effort at work when Shroud is too preoccupied playing with his precious pet Mecha Man to have any time for him. But it's fine; he can take whatever punishment Shroud decides to give him. He can show Shroud how good he can be.

Robert isn't coping well after the crash and everything that came before it. Toxic is a bad solution but it's the only one he has—until he starts his new job at SDN. Even then, Robert doesn't know how to break his habit of getting on his knees for Shroud's right-hand man. It would be lot easier to just move on with his life if Toxic would only stop kissing him like any of this meant something.
