A strange, warm tingle spreads through Feng Xin's body, all the way to the tips of his fingers, as he feels his face flush.
The first realization that strikes his poor, poor heart: Mu Qing staring at him with his piercing, slightly mean gaze, saying nice things about him however sarcastic it may be, makes his heart burst and skin burn.

Feng Xin finds himself kneeling, too, in front of the ghost. The talisman doesn’t even flutter, because there are no breaths to disrupt it where it lays, so he reaches out to lift one of the bottom corners.
Carefully, he lifts his other hand and brushes some of the strands of silver hair; it’s soft, perhaps even too soft, but the likeness otherwise isn’t bad. His skin is pale and clear and even shows a faint flush across the cheeks.
“Qing’er,” Feng Xin says quietly, and wonders if the ghost can even hear him under whatever spell the talisman carries. “... Is it you?”

Mu Qing continues towards the little gray house behind the wall, and a second later, he sees two figures emerging from somewhere off to the side, evidently a father and son. The father is the easy one to recognize; the child wobbles on short legs next to him, clutching a leafy cabbage in his tiny hands. Black hair sticks up in static peaks, almost like a demon’s horns, and his wide dark eyes peer cautiously at the intruder on the path.
…Cuocuo?
So it’s that type of dream. Mu Qing’s steps grind to a halt, and he considers turning back and having Xie Lian take care of this after all.
