    Even ‘rescued’, there seems to be no limits to the ways he can suffer. The laboratory was bad enough, but at least then, Szayel knew what to expect. Syringes, pills, and countless tests that ended in misery and pain— that was the structure of his life and what was done to him.

    Now, it’s different. The people who took him away from the lab and put him in your home said they were saving him, but so far, Szayel hasn’t felt a whole lot better. In the wake of everything the scientists had pumped into his system, there are withdrawals. Seemingly endless withdrawals. He spent the first week with you vomiting every time he was awake and spiraling through swirling, disturbing dreams every time he closed his eyes.

    Pet Au!Szayel, a rescued test subject, is re-homed with Reader. Between the aftereffects of the experiments and his own biology rebelling, things aren't going so well.
