Fai says the thing on one random day, after Fang nearly burned down the kitchen while trying to cook something more complex than spaghetti and needed help from someone who both, wouldn’t laugh at the fact (so Phum was out of the equation) and who actually knew their way around a kitchen (so pretty much all his other friends were out of the equation except, maybe, Tan; and Tan was precisely the one person who couldn’t know about this).
“I’m sorry, but that’s such a Tan thing to say!”
And Fang doesn’t understand what it means to be ‘Tan’ (he doesn’t in the moment), but he takes it as a compliment anyway.

Summary
There’s a little cafe down the road. One that’s a little tucked away, just off a street that feels too busy for it, where so many people walk past it without a thought. It’s almost as though it’s invisible, only seen by those who truly want to and missed by those moving too quickly through their day. It’s like another world, one that radiates homely warmth and always smells like bacon and fresh coffee and pastries baked on little trays and displayed in glass cases with little handwritten labels. It’s an oasis, somewhere that feels so out of place in a little borough of London but it’s there, and it stands, waiting for someone to need it. And evidently so many do, because there’s always someone sat at one of the little tables crammed into the space, a student nursing their fifth coffee and looking barely alive, or a couple holding hands across wood, space in between them but none all the same.

Summary
David's 19th most popular video is an apartment tour with some of his friends and his sister screaming in the background the entire time. He was redecorating, so there was stuff thrown around everywhere with his walls half-painted and furniture pushed into the wrong places in most rooms. He doesn’t really think about it after he posts it. He only really made it because people were asking for it, and he wanted something easy to post for that week while he was still working on getting things back in order with his disheveled apartment and everything else. So he never even notices the comments.

How was he to know that it was an a-listed, ex-Soviet building that had been turned into a prestigious dance academy? The side of the building looked like the side of any old building, Communist or not. To him it was a stupid, old building that needed livening up.
