Ashton and Orym are roommates. Orym's supposed to go home for the holidays, but a winter storm has other plans. And since he can't make it to his mom's, he decides to make the holiday something special for a certain ba-humbug roommate. Insert fluffy holiday montage here. Somewhere along the way, they realize they might be a little more than just friends. And certainly more than just roommates.
Low angst, high fluff, holiday goodness fic. POV alternates between Orym and Ashton. Updates come when I feel like it, with the goal of having the whole story posted by Christmas. No promises though, I'm only on Chapter 6 currently. But I'll do my best.

Breathing hurts.
This shouldn’t be a problem for Dorian. Or at least, it should be less of a problem. As an air genasi, Dorian has options. Breathing hurts? Stop breathing. Simple.
Except not breathing hurts too now, and if he doesn’t breathe than he can’t cough. Coughing makes his chest and throat feel like someone is taking a rusty saw blade to them, but he needs to cough so he can get this gods awful gunk out of his lungs. The fact that he has gunk in his lungs feels like a blasphemy, a desecration. Lungs are meant for air just as his throat is meant for song.

Originally started writing this for the Ashrym Week 2023 prompt: Orym Takes the Shard. Lost steam on it partway through, but decided it was still a fun AU, so I kept plugging away at it. Might revisit it again in the future.
