"I wanted to, well,” Gavi trails off quietly, blinking shyly at Pedri, setting Pedri’s pulse fluttering in sync. “I thought maybe I’d go see you tomorrow or the day after, before the family Christmas stuff, and give these to you, but, I don’t know.”
Pedri clears his throat to dislodge the sheer delight bursting in his chest at Gavi laboring over a present for him, plays it cool. “Well, I thought maybe we could go out for a bit, there’s a thing I thought you might like.”
Pedri and Gavi plan little surprises for each other while (circum)navigating their deep and unspoken feelings.

Summary
Gavi doesn’t know why but he feels the tears well up again. He leans forward and waits for Pedri to hug him again because that’s the only thing keeping him afloat right now. “I feel like I’m losing my mind. I just need –” Gavi bites his lip and just burrows himself further into Pedri’s chest.
“What do you need?” Pedri asks softly, lips brushing against Gavi’s hairline.
You, Gavi thinks. Except, he’s not medicated enough to say something that stupid. Instead, he says, “A distraction.”
(It's Gavi's ACL recovery and all the ups and downs that go along with it. Just a huge warning before you read, it deals with heavy themes and can be seen as trauma dumping, but I tried to balance it with as much hope and softness.)Bookmarked by iwhalien
