    “Actually, Naruhodou, I was hoping you could do me a favour.”

    Straight to the point as always. Ryuunosuke had suspected, anyway, that this wasn’t a social call, so he’s already prepared to leave, but that doesn’t stop him from levelling an inquisitive look in his friend’s direction as he shuts the door behind himself. “What did you have in mind?”

    “I was wondering if you might accompany me on an errand this afternoon. It shouldn’t take long.”

    Ryuunosuke joins him at the bottom of the steps. Kazuma can be difficult to read at the best of times. The week’s investigations and proceedings have been revealing, of course—at this point Ryuunosuke is sure he’s never understood the man better—but still, he’s got a way of keeping you out. If the errand isn’t going to take long, though, Ryuunosuke is sure he’ll figure it out eventually, and Kazuma must have his reasons if he doesn’t want to elaborate.

    “All right then, I’ll follow your lead,” Ryuunosuke decides. His acceptance earns him a smile from his companion, but Kazuma quickly looks troubled again as he steps forth to hail them a carriage.
