Summary
It's 1888 and Jake is twenty-seven years old and commits crimes of robbery, cheating and worse to make his living along the badlands and great plains of the American West. He has been ever since he had a chance to pick up a gun and aim it, as far as he can remember. He knows this life isn't free of the consequences, but it's his freedom that he holds on to. One day, he cheats one hand too many, and ends the night with a bullet to his chest. When he wakes up the next morning, memories fractured and yet entirely unharmed, he knows something is very wrong, but he doesn't know what, or more importantly, why.
More of a loose set of one-shots about this AU rather than a distinct storyline. Will probably not be posted in chronological order. Tags will updated and added as chapters are added.
