It’s infuriating, that Suguru doesn’t rise to the challenge. Instead, he just tilts his head to the side, not baring his throat but not protecting it either, like he’s not even worth caution. He appraises Satoru, making a big show of breathing in deep.

Not intentionally.” And Satoru feels the weight of the word, sees the glint in Suguru’s warm brown eyes, watches as his attention narrows like a predator smelling blood on the wind, and realizes his mistake. “But your scent is different. A little softer. And I know you wouldn’t be throwing a fit like this if that was all. So, unless you’ve been letting any other alphas fuck you—and we both know you haven’t—then the answer to your question is yes.”
