Summary
Studying him closer, she noticed there was a fading bruise on his cheekbone. Small, light green, and partially hidden by his hair, and Ellen was sure it hadn’t been put there by accident. She was going to kill Jake. She didn’t even have to think before concluding it was Jake. Again, she wondered how Felix had managed to survive that long.
“Well well well, look who’s returned!”
Ellen snapped her head around to see the very douchebag she was thinking about walking towards them cockily. Jake’s gaze was fixated on Felix, his hands tossing a football between them. She stepped forward and opened her mouth to tell him to get lost, but Felix held out an arm, stopping her.
Jake watched the motion, chuckled, and turned his gaze back to Felix. “Tired of your little friend protecting you? Looks like the freak has finally grown a backbone. I’m surprised you managed to survive in the forest for two weeks, you’re so thin you’d blow over in a strong breeze.”
Or:
Felix's mum finally lets him go back to school after being missing for two weeks. When he gets there, Jake greets him with some joking banter. Ellen doesn't realise it's banter.Bookmarked by jellyfishmagic
