    Why do humans call it a crush, anyway? I’ve seen actual crushing, and it’s not romantic; it’s not even vaguely appealing. In fact, it’s pretty horrific. Same for when humans describe love as “falling” for someone, or say they’re “drowning” in sensation. I remain convinced that most of my Preservation humans are simply too naïve to know what these things actually feel like. But, speaking as someone who has fallen, drowned, and been crushed (although, thankfully not all at once), I can say with authority that being with Gurathin is nothing like that.

    A series of glimpses into Murderbot exploring its sexuality and the experience of shared touch with Gurathin. The first chapter is pretty mild, but the series will earn its explicit rating in later installments. This work lives in the same world as the first work in the series (Virus), but can be read standalone.
