surprise him. nandor lets that sink in. as meg reaches for the disgusting-looking slimy green concoction in her cup, he decides to accept the advice, if only to figure out if it might be something guillermo will like. if only to end this painful conversation. he nods, decisive. and then he reaches a hand out across the table, gives it a little wave, and tells her: “you will remember nothing of this.”

Why tonight, of all nights, he decides this, he’ll never know – maybe it’s the alcohol in his system or the way Jiyong still manages to dredge up a smile at his arrival even when he’s clearly exhausted. Maybe it’s the fondness that's been growing in his chest ever since he realized he would never be able to afford a single occupancy room even if there had been one available and gave in to the idea of having two roommates. It doesn’t matter.

Nothing, he tells himself after the fact, after the euphoria has somewhat worn off and he's just exhausted from all of the determination and the positive emotions and the fact that Nagisa has texted him six times in the past twenty minutes.
