Summary
"Before she left the room to go forward into the hallway ahead of her, a newspaper clipping on the table caught her eye. She picked it up, and strings of what seemed to be slime kept the newspaper connected to the table. Mia grimaced, but focused more on the headline.
‘Over 20 Missing in 2 Years.’
Her stomach dropped. The article spoke about how tourists and locals alike were going missing, and how not a single one had been found. Police suspect foul play, they are going door to door, tightening up on protecting tourists. Still, not any of the twenty people had been found. The old meat stench began to nauseate her even more, and she put the article down, trying not to think about it too much.
She really had to get Ethan out of here."

Summary
Will raises his eyebrows. “Is that why you came in here?” he repeats, looking back down at the blue flannel. “To ask me about the weather in Lenora?”
“Kind of,” Mike says, and then, “well no, not about the weather specifically. I just– I wanted to talk to you.”
“Oh.” And Will looks a lot more surprised at this, actually, than the idea that Mike might have just wanted to come to his room to make small talk about unseasonably frigid California winters. “Okay. What about?”
“Anything.” The response is embarrassingly immediate. “Everything. I don’t know. I missed you.”
Hawkins, 1986. The world is ending, there are too many people in Mike's house, and to top it all off, he and Will have some things to talk through.

Summary
“Jeez, you really are sick.” Will muttered and Mike choked out a laugh.
“‘S just my luck.” He murmured, ignoring the way his head spun when he lifted it from the toilet seat.
Even under the harsh white light of the bathroom, Will still looked good, his honey brown eyes furrowed in concern and lips slightly parted. He was beautiful, and Mike wanted to bite him.
He recoiled a bit at the thought but now that he had thought it, it wouldn't go away. He could imagine it, digging his teeth into Will’s wrist, blood beading from the teeth marks faster than he could lick it up. The rushing in his ears got louder, twin heartbeats thudding in his ears and Mike turned to heave into the toilet again, not even bothering to stop the sobs that were ripping through him.

“I can show you the real thing, if you want me to.”
“What?”
“We could practice. I mean, actually kissing. I wouldn’t mind.”Or Will is getting ready for a date and looks defeated, before it even started. Helping him practice might be just the thing to help Mike make sense of his own confusing feelings.

Summary
Three shots ring out.
Steve hears them before he feels them; a warm, wet pain burning in his torso, intolerably excruciating.
There’s a bundle of squawks and screams, outbursts of panic and anger, and it’s only when Hopper falls forwards to take Steve up into a slightly rough, protective hold, does he realize that two of those shots have lodged themselves in his own flesh and bone. (Realizes that he’d moved, instinctively, to shield El, despite never having spoken to her, who’d the gun had been so precisely pointed at, aimed for.)
Steve Harrington watches his own blood pool and trickle over a series of hands pressed against him, small and large, soft and rugged, and for a moment, wants to stay like this. He can’t.
