“You should kiss me.”
“I know, I know, I’m almost finished, I promise. Just – wait.” Kalim freezes, then slowly meets Jamil’s hard gaze with a bewildered look on his face. “What?”
Burning brightly, the candle-lit brass lanterns set on the floor beside them flicker at the command of the cool desert wind entering from the vast windows of Kalim’s dorm room. In the shock of silence, the air grows ominously still, but Jamil pays it no mind.
“Aren’t you curious? Kiss me,” Jamil scoffs impatiently. He doesn’t have all night.

“Oh…” Kalim replies with sudden composure in spite of the evident shock. “So Jamil is now…five?”
“Temporarily,” Crowley assures hastily. “The effects of the potion should naturally end in 48 hours and Viper should return to his normal self.”
“What about his memories?” Kalim demands.
“Don’t worry about it, Asim!” Crowley nods brightly. “In any case, please look after Viper for the next two days! You are excused from classes in the meantime! After all, childcare is a full-time job in and of itself! Aren’t I so thoughtful?”

Summary
He grabs the back of Kalim’s head and wraps his arm around his waist. Kalim flashes a sly smile and it only provokes him further. Jamil scowls, mentally cursing the clearly bad influences in Kalim’s social circles that ruined him like this as he impatiently adjusts and pulls Kalim’s waist toward him. He looks furiously at Kalim as he curls both hands around his neck and the heated touch strikes him like a thunderbolt. It’s been three years since they started this, and still Jamil can’t get enough. It doesn’t make sense. It shouldn’t make so much sense.
At that moment, Jamil decides that thinking is overrated.

It’s odd that he’s short of breath by the time they reach the top of the staircase leading to Kalim’s room. He closes his lips tightly to hide the fact. Out of pure muscle memory, Jamil reaches for the bronze handle and opens the heavy, wooden door. He slowly trails after Kalim’s light footsteps as they enter his room. On a clear night like tonight, Kalim’s room is illuminated by the moon and dressed in starlight. It’s too bright, too serene. Barely past the doorway, Jamil stares at the graceful arch of Kalim’s back as he stretches and sighs happily over a day well spent. It sends him into an unwilling daze and he feels sick with dread.
Jamil quietly closes the door behind him and immediately crouches down, the last of his proud defenses collapsing.
“…Jamil?”
