The demogorgon is lifeless, and Will’s never seemed so full of it. He unfurls his hands and lifts his head to meet Mike’s waiting eye, and—for a long while, he just stares, knuckles smearing blood across his upper lip, headlights painting him golden.
I love you, Mike thinks fleetingly, then pitches forward and pukes onto the street.
Mike has a concussion—and a few other issues. Set after the events of Chapter Four: Sorcerer.

Summary
In the aftermath of Will channeling his powers, he starts to realise the connection is not some amazing gift, but a curse.
Will gets possessed and Mike reaches for ways to bring him back. Mike could take anything as long as Will is safe in the end. Vecna can taunt him and try to get in his head but he won't succumb.

Mike squeezes Will’s side, and closes his eyes just for a moment. Lets himself imagine they almost just didn’t die five minutes ago, that the end of world isn’t happening, that the kids weren’t taken, that none of the horrible, horrible things that have been following them for years are happening.
It’s just him and Will. No monsters, no soldiers. Just them.
