Summary
Will’s expression is grim, broken as his own.
“You are not weak, Mike,” he says, his voice low and firm, overriding his own pain for Mike's sake. “Don’t you dare say that. You are my Paladin. You are the purest person I know.” He squeezes Mike’s hand. “You don’t need forgiveness from me. You don’t need absolution. And I—I can’t be your Cleric anymore. Not like this. I’m the one who’s tainted. I’m the sinner, Mike. I’m the one who’s going to ruin you.”
Will finally collapses right then. His face is hot with shame, his heart heavy with sorrow — not just for himself, but for Mike, for what he’s done to him, for what they’ve become. The tears he’s held back for days finally stream down his face.or

Summary
This is what Mike’s been thinking about, in between worrying whether they’re all going to die, which definitely suggests that his priorities are a little out of whack, but he can’t help it. The past year has been bizarre, to put it lightly, but he thought that one of the better things to come out of it is that he and Will are friends again, like, real, close friends. He’s wondered, once or twice, in the midst of his own relationship’s crumbling status, whether Will has ever had any romantic entanglements, whether he plans to. Previously, Mike had ruled it out, because he thought if Will was interested in someone that he’d tell him about it, or at least not hide it. But Robin mentioned a date, and Will’s the only guy she’s been around lately except for Steve, who’s pretty obviously still hung up on Nancy (ew), so, like, what else is Mike supposed to think?
Will has made a new friend. Mike feels normal about it, really.

Summary
The demogorgon is lifeless, and Will’s never seemed so full of it. He unfurls his hands and lifts his head to meet Mike’s waiting eye, and—for a long while, he just stares, knuckles smearing blood across his upper lip, headlights painting him golden.
I love you, Mike thinks fleetingly, then pitches forward and pukes onto the street.
Mike has a concussion—and a few other issues. Set after the events of Chapter Four: Sorcerer.

“Whatever," Lucas shrugs. "You’re just jealous that you aren’t getting any.”
Mike raises an eyebrow, like he knows something the rest of them don't. Will looks like he wants to drown him. He probably deserves it.
