She hates being like this. Work is an illusory bulwark, hiding a deeper truth, a fear rooted somewhere in her heart. It’s just an excuse to avoid facing something she might irrationally desire.
“If no one can handle the Commission's burden, how can you?” Feixiao insists, rolling onto her side. “Shouldn't you take a break?”
Her fingers trace the line of Yukong’s spine. Yukong shivers. All this is unreasonable.
