Forcefully, she tears her eyes away from his, willing herself to calm down, lest she truly gets ahead of herself. Glancing down, she becomes aware of the way she's intertwined their hands together, an action that comes as second nature to her at this point. She clutches at his hand more firmly, greedily clinging on to the warmth radiating off his palm.
It steadies her somewhat, her mind quieting down to a more bearable hum. She takes a deep, gentle breath, willing to keep the trembling of her voice at bay.
"'Vasha... Are you asking me to marry you?"
It is the summer before their last year of college starts, and Kakavasha and Jelena, childhood friends turned lovers, decide to visit home again one last time.

“Most of all,” she continues, voice barely above a whisper, as if divulging a secret made only for the two of them. “I love your heart.”
She punctuates her words with another kiss, leaning down to press her lips gently onto his chest, right where his heart is. She can feel it beating a steady rhythm from where her lips touch his skin, slowly gaining crescendo as she lets her words linger in the air, letting the weight of it sink deep into him.
“Thank you for being so tenacious,” she whispers into his skin, as if thanking his heart directly. “Thank you for keeping him alive.”
With Aventurine having just returned home from a mission, the two spend the morning wrapped in each other’s arms, basking in the tranquility that comes with each other’s presence, reminiscing about how far they’ve come; about the journey that comes with loving one another, and oneself.

His other arm encircles her waist, pulling her body ever closer to his, fingers rubbing soothing circles on her hip as he feels her take steadying breaths, face pressed against his shoulder.
“Promise me you’ll come back.”
The night before Aventurine is set to travel to Penacony, he meets with Topaz one last time.

Large, feathery wings suddenly take flight, kicking up a storm in its wake. She can feel the force of its motions beating heavily, almost painfully against the walls of her chest. She feels it raging from within, flying in tight circles, rattling its cage.
The towel and bandages lie forgotten on the tiled floor as Kafka kneels softly by the side of the bathtub, never once breaking eye contact. Arms move towards him slowly as she cradles Blade’s head to her chest, forehead resting on the flat surface of her sternum.
“A master swordsman knows to care for their blade, too, every once in a while.”
Blade has just come back from a mission, and Kafka is there to welcome his return.

Summary
Sugawara Koushi didn’t particularly hope to get into Seijoh - but now that he did manage to get in, he’s determined to make the best of it. This will be his new start and even though making his way into Seijoh’s volleyball team’s starting lineup won’t be an easy task, Suga refuses to give up without a fight.
It doesn’t help that the one he’ll be going up against is Oikawa Tooru, Kitagawa Daiichi’s star setter and the best setter of the entire prefecture. And it definitely does not help that said setter is determined to drag Suga out of the misery his middle school team left him in by any and all means necessary and somehow manages to win his heart over in the process.
