And just like every other time he's asked, Steve is stuck for a second. Because the real answer would be Oh, I don't know. They left a couple weeks ago and I haven't gotten a call yet. Which obviously wouldn't be the right thing so say.
So instead he just shrugs. "Out of town." Not technically a lie, just an… omission of truth, as his aunt would say.
Hopper sighs again, pinches the bridge of his nose. "And when are they getting back?"
"Soon." Steve answers a little too quickly. That one was a lie, could be anytime from tomorrow to next year if hes being honest.
