    Dio still preferred the softer candlelight to the harder artificial lights of the outside or shops or within most buildings, but that manifested in him wearing glasses more often than not. Fascinating invention, it'd only been invented a decade before his life really got going, but definitely painful to endure at times like this.

    Pucci hums again. “I heard Venice can be quite gloomy this time of year.” He says idly, back to browsing through his book.

    “Perfect.” Dio announces suddenly. “Clear that busy schedule of yours, Enrico. We leave tomorrow for a week, just the two of us.”

    Pucci snorts and turns a page but when Dio fails to join in or deliver a punchline, he glances up. Dio watches him with an expectant expression.

    “You’re joking.” Pucci says.

    “Am I laughing?”

    “It’s fine, I won’t get sick.” Pucci stubbornly insists because maybe if he says it enough God will be merciful and take pity on him.

    Of course, they’re famous last words.
