“I want to open our relationship.”

    Izuku blinked. “What?”

”I want an open marriage,” Shindo repeated, dictating every syllable, enunciating slowly— as if Izuku somehow hadn't heard him the first time.

    -or-

Izuku is withering in a one-sided, open marriage with his piece of shit husband, Shindo.

Katsuki decides to sweep Izuku off his feet while he has the chance.

*inspired by those reddit posts on tiktok with the minecraft parkour in the background that are like “my (24M) spouse (25M) asked to open our marriage and now they want to close it because i found someone else that treats me like royalty”

    Summary

Seabright Bay is too small to breathe in, and Izuku Midoriya swore he’d never come back. But his mother is sick, so he does. The town, the ocean, the painful memories and the boy who made it hell all waiting where he left them. Katsuki Bakugou isn’t the golden prodigy anymore, he’s a sun-bleached apology in a surf shop, a storm he never learned to name.

What started at thirteen with salt, a kiss and a cruelty... never stopped pulling. Years of silence calcified into hate, regret, self-loathing and a want neither of them knows how to survive. Now they keep colliding in doorways and bars, on sandbars and sidewalks, caught between who they were and who they’re terrified to be. Izuku is done drowning. Bakugou is done pretending the tide isn’t his fault.

This is about the love you survive, the apologies that come too late, and the kind of forgiveness that feels like standing in the break and choosing to stay.

“Because the truth was, loving Bakugou had never been the problem. It was surviving it.”

“You don’t get to call this unfinished, you hear me? You ended it the second you made me wish I was someone else.”
