If it weren’t clear from the smears of grime, blossoming bruises, oozing cuts from who-the-hell-knows-what, it may as well be spattered all over her face. Her eyes are rimmed red, hair endlessly frizzy and knotted when she never has a lock of it out of place if she can help it, but truthfully, without all of that, it’s the look she’s wearing.

Honestly, there wasn't much that Ocean felt could be less fun than playing stupid teenage party games at some random party that she didn't even want to attend.
But Penny's hopeful expression gave her pause, and Noel took that opportunity to jump in with his own comment.
"Come on, Satan. Could do you some good," he said, and Ocean noticed the way his gaze almost imperceptibly flicked between Penny and herself.
At this, Ocean felt herself flush, her retort dying on her tongue as she sighed.
It wasn't like she had anything better to do, she supposed.
"Okay. Sure. Why not."
