    Summary

Viktor is the ideal corporate fuckpig. Mid-thirties, no family, no prospects, drowning in a mix of old and new medical debt that can only be offset by continued allegiance to the company.

His routine ticks along in a single, predictable pattern: he shows up to work, worries about deadlines, keeps his mouth shut, and masturbates until he falls asleep. Every day for nine years now. Every day.

    And then Jayce comes along.

    -

Jayce and Viktor enter a highly indecent workplace relationship.

Viktor notices that Jayce is quieter as the weather gets colder. He might have an idea how to fix that. He might also be in love.

    Bookmarker's Notes

exquisitely attentive to the way sadness settles quietly into a life. jayce’s winter heaviness is written with such restraint, and viktor’s response is care as practice: remembering, adjusting, feeding, warming, inventing light where there is none. viktor tends to jayce with devotion and ingenuity; jayce answers by insisting on belonging, by opening doors, by making family an active verb and not a conditional one. set against the rituals and abundance of the holidays, the care moves back and forth – holding both quiet lows and shared joy – until each of them shelters the other in different registers, choosing one another again and again, deliberately building a home that can hold both sorrow and celebration. a fic to return to ♡

If loving Jayce is wrong, then Viktor was all right with that.

    Bookmarker's Notes

a portrait of faith undone by touch, of purity collapsing into want, of searching for heaven and finding it in a boy’s mouth – written with such eloquence that it leaves you breathless. rich, lyrical prose that turns religious guilt into poetry. every sentence aches; every image burns. viktor’s sacrilegious devotion and jayce’s impossible warmth are rendered with such tactile, tender intensity it’s almost unbearable. read it for the prose alone.

    Summary

    He pictures the funeral sometimes.

He pictures someone he doesn’t know saying Viktor’s name wrong. He pictures screaming in public. He pictures stealing the ashes and keeping them in a protein powder container because it’s the only vessel big enough. He pictures lying in those ashes like a widow bird. He pictures baking the ashes into bread and feeding them to pigeons in the park.

    He pictures swallowing them himself.

Or: When Viktor chooses a quiet death, Jayce learns how to love him to the edge of the end and carry what’s left through the sad art of letting go.

    Bookmarker's Notes

a slow, surgical elegy for the living, and then a letter from the dead. playlist traces the daily mechanics of goodbye, and the excruciating choreography of letting go: learning how to live alongside death, to laugh with it, to catalogue mercies until intimacy itself overflows its container. it is less about death than the threshold before it: the tenderness of carrying someone to the edge, and the refusal to let love dim even when time runs out.

    Summary

The stories say a siren's song is to be feared. They call it a curse, a death sentence.

They are wrong. The song is simply a beginning. The real danger is far softer, slower, and sweeter, a doom borne upon the siren's kiss.

Whatever the truth, Viktor has no cause for concern. For what would a siren want from a broken man like him, fleeing a lonely life in Piltover to another by the sea?
