    Summary

Lucifer has always kept his distance from sinners. It's what keeps him (relatively) sane — if he gets too close, he is haunted by visions of the tragic mortal lives that landed them in Hell.

But in his new life at the Hotel, it is more difficult than ever to stay away — and when it comes to light that his daughter's insufferable facilities manager is gravely wounded, it falls to Lucifer to deliver his soul from Death.

In so doing, he falls headfirst into the sins, past lives, and heartbreaks of the one human whose contradictions he is powerless to resist.

    Summary

    “Zoro—”

Did you know?” he repeats, desperate, and Luffy just looks at him. And he wonders, then, how much of this has been preordained—how much of this is real, how much of this is him. How much of what he’s felt since they were wedged side-to-side in a shitty wooden boat on the East Blue has actually mattered, and how much has been the universe pressing him down into the mold of someone else's heart.

And then Luffy is gripping his horns, bringing his forehead down to meet his, repeating, “Zoro? Zoro?” like his name is a mantra, like he’s gone somewhere far away and gotten lost on his way back.

And Zoro blinks at him, then, and sees both of them at once—both of them—and he grips Luffy’s face in his own hands (claws) and presses his lips (violent, full of teeth) against his. Because this is who he has been waiting a thousand years for, the brightest and most beautiful of them all, the one thing he could never have—could never see, not if (Luffy, Joyboy, Nika) had made different (worse) choices—the thing that could never thrive in the darkness, just like he could never (has been unable to for centuries) survive without it—

    Summary

So it’s not exactly a shock when he opens his mouth, blue eyes sparkling from behind dark sunglasses (and it’s odd that he’s chosen to wear his glasses here instead of his blindfold; odd to know that Six Eyes trusts him in some weird, skewed way for the simple fact that they both care for a child who deserves more than Toji can give him) and says: “I want you to teach at Jujutsu Tech.”

It’s not a shock, because Gojo has said more ridiculous things with a straighter face than the one that resides on his features now. Toji throws his head back and laughs.

    Gojo does not.

“Oh,” says Toji. “You’re not joking.”
    ---
or: Toji lives. Neither teaching nor parenting are his strong suits, but he ends up stuck with both.

    Summary

“Look, I don’t know what you’re trying to pull, so I’ll just be frank,” Kaeya says, crossing his arms. “Diluc Ragnvindr died two years ago in Snezhnaya after a confrontation with the Tsaritsa’s Harbingers. They sent back a body. I’m not sure what you are, but it’s really rude to waltz into someone’s home masquerading as their dead brother. So you’re going to sit right there until one of the alchemists comes over to find out what you really are. Don’t even try to run away. I’ll personally stop you.”

“Uh,” Diluc says. Is it bad that he’s fixating more on Kaeya calling him his brother than the whole being dead thing? “Can I ask you a question?”

During Weinlesefest, an irregular Ley Line outcrop in Dawn Winery’s vineyards sends Diluc on a involuntary vacation in a universe where he is dead, and Kaeya is Master of the Winery.

    Summary

The string is a sort of constant for Jack as everything else breaks down, and as he grows up, he tugs on it, sending reminders. He uses it to tell his soulmate that he exists, that he's here, and if his soulmate please won't forget him, he'll really appreciate it.
