Wish there was more plot or context to this one… am holding out for soaps identity reveal, I wanna know why he’s important!! But I guess can’t walk too much of it, for what it is it has its moments!!

Yanno, for ghost be in the most fearsome and capable soldier around…. He sure is a FUCKING MORON!!! It’s legit driving me crazzzyyyy. I get to a point it’s like… he’s always kept his calm EXCEPT for now with Soap and he’s slipping… but he just looks sloppy and like he doesn’t have the talent or shrewdness in the first place!! I can forgive the first knife threatening but the ending… Also understand the hints are to leave breadcrumbs for the reader but it feels so frustrating for them to be so easy to spot… ghost leading soap out of camp, he also had to “prepare and plant seeds”… so is he gonna let him go or nah, feels like writer is unclear, therefore ghost is unclear and not the other way around. It feels more clumsy than clever tbh.whatever, I love how the author was like… yeah idk what the war/politics/plot is about. So CLEARLY I’m getting caught up in the wrong things lol so yeah, porn and the trope is good, exactly what I love LMAO
…It just pisses me off cause as fucked up as it is I’m like… Ghost you should have just killed him LOL also the epilogue…. Thought it would run through snapshots of soaps POV, not the first meeting… fun view but expected more I guess. Didn’t add that much to the story imo. Also him seeing ghosts face… in a dream?? I’m suppose to believe that??
ANYWAYS, I talked so much trash but I was literally locked into reading it LMAO. For for what it was. But def a trope fic and not breaking out of that, which is what I was hoping for. Well done tho, made my heart hurt so was affected.

What a ride! Not sure how I feel about this being tied back into canon… the beauty with AUs is usually that it DOESN’T have to worry about being canon and I don’t have to read about MW2 for the hundredth time lmaooo…
But it WAS good enough that I WILL read about it again 😩 LOL I was fully consumed by this fic!!! I was shocked that soap was out of captivity by halfway through and was like… where do we go from here?! But seeing his rehabilitation and starting a new life was interesting (and painful!!! 😭).
I think overall some pivotal moments (price as buyer, ghost going postal, Johnny's escape) lacked suspense and tension, felt too easy or going through the motions without enough build up, but I think it was just the diff between good and great. Still very good!! And to a point I was grateful for action scenes to happen quickly cause I was also racing to the end to see what was gonna happen lol
But yeah looovveeddd this. Part of my “painful fics are cathartic” crew lol wasn’t sure if I felt convinced enough of the whole price keeping Simon and Johnny apart thing, Simon get ur head out of ur ass… but the last chapter of him seeing Johnny “happy” and having a life without him? That HIT!! Lol
