Summary
If anyone were to ask whose idea it was to start doing body shots off each other, neither of them could've given a credible answer.
That didn't matter at the moment.
Not with the way Eddie slurped up the tequila pooled in Buck's belly button.
Or how he took the time to lap the liquor that lingered on Buck's toned abs.
Or the way the flat of his tongue pressed against Buck's collarbone much lower than where the salt had been stuck, as Eddie licked up the side of Buck's neck.
It certainly didn’t matter when Eddie's lips pressed against Buck's as he very slowly bit the lime resting in Buck's mouth. That's when it occurred to him. Straight guys probably don't do body shots off their bisexual male best friend. It should have given Eddie more pause than that, but it didn't.
Not when he really wanted to do it again.

OR: I 100% believe the show writers made a mistake not having Buck and Eddie hook up in Season 8 Episode 6. So this is my way of correcting that error 😜😅

Summary
"It's not what it looks like," Buck blurts.
Bobby's eyebrows reach for his hairline. "So you weren't violating the one-firefighter-per-shower regulation?"
"We," Buck sputters. "I mean, okay, yeah. We were, but we—"
"We were figuring out breakfast," Eddie cuts in.
"Well, next time, figure it out in different stalls."

Summary
"Hear me out," Buck said. "Clearly, both of us are sick of dating other people. And we're a good fit, in pretty much every way that matters. So what if we're not in love? We don't need to be in love to be happy together."
Eddie frowned. "So basically, we'd be boyfriends, without benefits?"
"Yes!" Buck snapped his fingers. "Like platonic boyfriends! We'd get all the benefits of a relationship and none of the heartbreak."
And maybe Eddie had finally lost his mind, or maybe it was from all the alcohol clouding his judgment, but the idea of it didn't sound half as crazy as it should have.
***
After Buck’s and Eddie’s dates both end with disasters – proving once again that maybe dating just wasn’t meant for them – they decide to simply settle for each other. If there was one person in the world they'd ever trust with their hearts, it was each other. And who was a better person to date other than your very own best friend?Series

Summary
“I don’t know how to talk about it,” Buck says, days later, in the quiet of the bedroom.
Eddie and Christopher have stuck around Los Angeles. Buck hasn’t asked, and Eddie hasn’t said anything, and Buck knows better than getting his hopes up. He hopes, regardless. Christopher has been sleeping on the couch, and without another bed or air mattress, Eddie has been sleeping in Buck’s bed. With Buck.
It’s been—fine. Kinda sucks, actually, because Buck’s been breaking into these huge, heaving sobs every night for the past three weeks, curling up in the center of his king-sized bed and letting his tears soak into the pillows. He isn’t able to do that with Eddie here, has swallowed down the tears and only let them out in the shower, tucking all the ugly pieces of his grief away. He’s been dealing with it, and trying not to bother others with it, but apparently he’s failed that, too.
Buck is tired of drowning under the weight of his own grief. Eddie is desperate to get him to talk about it.

Summary
Eddie’s eyes were studying Buck’s face, and whatever he saw there made him say, “there’s no way you can keep this from Maddie.”
“No,” Buck folded immediately. “I could try, but . . .”
Eddie’s mouth quirked into a smile, showing a dimple, and it was literally heroic of Buck to leave the house with all that going on. “Tell Maddie,” Eddie offered. “Swear her to secrecy. And we’ll just keep it to ourselves until Chris is back on Friday.”
He was so smart. His best friend was so smart and also wanted to kiss him and also said they were practically engaged.
“Good plan,” said Buck, fighting gravity to continue his way out the door. “It’s just one week. How hard could it be?”

On a very normal Sunday, Buck and Eddie confess their feelings for each other; what follows is a week of the least normal behavior the LAFD has ever seen.
