It isn't every day that you meet your soulmate. And today's not the day, by all means. You haven't met your soulmate, not face to face. You know he's never reached out in all the time that you've known him, and that you stopped trying to reach out yourself midway through your middle school years.
It's similar to holding hands, you think. You've always held his hand, but he's held your elbow, maybe the wrist at most. Now, though, you've both walked separate ways.
Or, at least you'd think so, if he didn't come running after you.

It's a split second, a flash of a future Keigo so far away that it's almost hard to fathom. He's old, older than your oldest sister, who would be in high school if it wasn't for your unfortunate living situation. His hair is a little bit longer, a shade or two darker, and his eyes are obscured by big yellow glasses that make you want to laugh— but his wings are huge, almost bigger than him, spread out to showcase more feathers than you'd ever seen, while a few onlookers oo and ahh and snap pictures. He's famous, you realize with a gasp, reeling back to look at him.
Or, you meet Pro Hero Hawks when he's still just Keigo Takami, the boy who lives next door. You can see what he'll become— and learn the hard way how painful it is to know of a future that cannot be changed.

When Hawks takes on an intern, he, like with most things, does not think it through. And so, when he inevitably messes up, it’s not really a surprise—what is a surprise is that Hawks gets a second chance. He’s never been the best at making it up to people, or at fixing his mistakes, or at…you get the point. But you should already know: Hawks does not think things through.
And this thing? Not an exception.
