Hollander never makes a statement about the picture, which is probably the smartest move, if Ilya really stops to think about it. People forget about it when some other celebrity scandal erupts soon after, but Ilya doesn’t. Instead, his finger hovers over Jane’s contact entry too many times to count.
After nearly two weeks of this unending torture, his finger finally slips.

“You are still here,” Ilya said, flexing his fingers in the box of ginger ale that he carried in one hand. “I thought ‘you could not do this.’”
After his panicked escape, after possibly breaking Ilya Rozanov's heart or at least mildly inconveniencing him, Shane Hollander gets stuck outside, waiting on a ride that isn't coming. In other words: aftermath of the tuna melt scene, a little earlier than canon.

Rozanov exhaled in a half laugh. “I am not cute anymore?”

“Hollander,” Rozanov breathes. His voice curls down the phone line like shavings of dark chocolate, and the phone pressed to Shane’s ear makes it sound as intimate as a whisper.
Shane clears the crackles of sleep from his throat and props himself on one elbow. “Is everything okay?” he asks, taking a deep breath. They’ve never called each other. That’s not something they do.
Ilya calls Shane after Boston wins the Stanley Cup.
