Summary
The self-proclaimed emperor Wen Ruohan overthrows the government and aims to take over the whole country, to unite all cultivational sects under the banner of the Qishan Wen sect. Yunmeng Jiang is the first to fall, right after Yu Ziyuan's passing, and is immediately annexed to the growing Wen Empire. For the safety of their people, Jiang Fengmian and Jiang Wanyin have to live as political hostages in Nightless City.
Jiang Wanyin has to endure torture and abuse from the Wen soldiers, until one day, Wen Ruohan throws an eye on him and decides he could be good for something else. And exactly this gives Wanyin a glimmer of hope.
