He knew the answer, of course.
It had everything to do with the way she looked at him when she wanted something. The slight tilt of her head, the hopeful little smile, those big brown eyes that somehow managed to make him feel like the most terrible person in the world for denying her even the smallest thing.
It was like kicking a puppy. A very pretty, very manipulative puppy who knew exactly what she was doing.
