Oscar hates hearing that. “Make it work.” They shouldn’t have to make it work! Because it worked! Lando and Oscar. Alpha and Beta. It worked perfectly well! Even better than anyone had expected. Alpha and Beta, the perfect pairing, the one every team wishes for. The Alpha leads, and the Beta follows but never submits. No power play, no imbalance. A team.
Now, McLaren has the worst pairing they could get… An Alpha and an Omega.

First: Landoscar in Oscarland. One minute you're rating Tim Tam flavours as foreplay; the next you crash out of your home race and your teammate practically declares their undying love for you.
Then: China - a romantic tragedy in 56 a̶c̶t̶s̶ laps. When you're not racing on race day, you make your own entertainment. Luckily, Oscar has company this time.
Also: Oh, Canada! Another disastrous Sunday, but Oscar and Lando have the consolation-prize routine down to a science.
Plus: The Monaco curse strikes. Lando attempts to cope in the healthiest way possible: denial, deflection and kissing Oscar senseless.
This: Silverstone =
mediocrity draped in neon.Oscar draped in neon.And: Lady Luck goes AWOL (again) in Spa. Oscar takes fate into h̶i̶s̶ o̶w̶n̶ Lando's hands.
Finally: Hungary delivers McLaren's first win, Oscar's third DNF, and Lando's millionth foot-in-mouth moment. Somehow, things work out okay.
A bad-race-therapy fic collection that wasn't supposed to have this many instalments.

"Feeling guilty then?" She guessed.
He let out the breath he'd been holding and met her eyes in the mirror. She was leaning against the door frame, arms crossed, a rather fond grin on her face.
"I don't want to hurt them. But I don't want to stop racing either."
She nodded in understanding, "And you can't do both."

"Do you know him?" Sebastian asked.
"No, I've never met him before. It's just...seeing him and his pup, it's heartbreaking. He must have been so scared and alone. I can't even imagine," Max admitted. "He looks around my age, Seb. He shouldn't have had to go through that."
Sebastian nodded in agreement. "You're right, no one should ever have to go through what this boy has gone through but that's why we do this. We can't change the past, but we can help make the future better. And that's what we will do."
Max nodded, his eyes still fixed on the clinic.
"Go home, Max. Take a break. You have done enough for now. Let me handle it," Sebastian assured him.
Max reluctantly nodded. "Okay, call me if anything happens,"
"Of course. Rest well,"
Max drove home, his thoughts swirling. He wasn't sure why, but he felt connected to the Omega. Maybe it was the fact that they were the same age, or maybe it was his concern for the baby, but he couldn't shake the feeling that he needed to help him.

Tyler presents as omega in the middle of a hockey game then quickly finds himself traded to Dallas. He's an omega in need of pack and support, but all he really has is Jamie. And sometimes Jordie. But mostly its Jamie. Tyler isn't sure if his feelings are real or just imprinting on the first alpha to try and help him since he presented. What he does know is that Jamie-- beautiful, awkward, caring, Jamie-- is absolutely out of his league and just doing what he needs to ensure that Dallas' newest acquisition doesn't wash out or fall apart entirely.

Tyler draws in a shocked gasp. Now he can’t just smell Jamie, all comforting surrounding him. It’s like he can taste him too. What Jamie smells like, in the back of his palette. Tyler forces himself to take a step back, prying himself out of Jamie’s thick arms.
Before he knows it, he’s pressed against the wall.

“Dude, Spiderman was opposite the building again! He’s been there so much recently, I’m starting to think he lives here or something.”
Oscar choked on a french fry, lightly patting his chest and grabbing his drink to wash it down. “Have you thought about the fact that he probably likes the area?”
“No! He goes there with a hoodie and a backpack, he’s probably on his way home or something! Could you imagine? Spiderman could actually live in the flats opposite us!” Lando exclaimed, turning his head to the window and he could slightly see the same building. The world now becoming suffocated by the increasing darkness, the sunset long gone.
Oscar pinched the bridge of his nose, “I think you’re reading into this way too much, mate.”
OR
Lando is obsessed with the friendly-neighbourhood Spiderman and Oscar is his good best friend that listens.

And maybe Matthew keeps the ingredients for lasagna on hand now. Maybe he likes the responsibility of occasionally caring for a small child. Some people get a dog when they want to take that next step into adulthood, Matthew bought a house with a weird five year old boy ghost who is more emotionally mature than himself.
