“It’s better, to have uh… verbal confirmation,” Andy said, wringing her hands.
“Then listen carefully,” Emily got off her stool, walked two steps to stand directly in front of Andy, forcing her to turn away from the bar table. She put her arms on the table top, forming a cage of sorts that has Andy trapped.
“I will be your date to the wedding,” she said, her voice dropping to a lower register, lifting a hand to brush a lock of Andy’s hair away from her face.
