William’s jaw clenched, though he kept his voice calm. “I’m sorry you had to go through that,” he whispered. “I should’ve been more careful.”

"Stop, I don't want to hear it, Michael." William barked, directing his glaring eyes at his eldest child. "It was an accident, that's all. I'm not mad so don't apologize to me, apologize to your damn brother once you see him."
The brunette stared at his feet, ignoring the violent shakes in his hands as his blue eyes started to wet and his bottom lip trembled. Slowly, his eyes made their way to William's work bag which sat by his father's feet, open and rummaged through. A small gold bear sat in it, haphazardly thrown in at the last minute. Michael's eyes trailed down it, staring at the dried blood staining its golden skin, and couldn't help the bile that spilled past his lips.
