Summary
“Shannon,” he whispers softly.
“I couldn’t do it,” she says frantically, pacing around his coffee table. “I couldn’t — Christopher was crying and I tried to comfort him but my hands would just go through him. I couldn’t fix it, Buck. I couldn’t do anything but watch.”
What is Buck even supposed to tell her? That it’s unfair? It is but he’s pretty sure that she’s very aware of that. That it sucks? Yes, it very much does suck but again, she knows, she’s going through it, living it. She doesn’t need Buck to tell her any of that.
Nothing he says can make this better but he can explain what’s going to happen, can try to prepare her for what awaits her.Or Evan Buckley has always been able to see ghosts. He's been helping them pass to the other side for years. Now he has to help Eddie's estranged wife, Shannon.

Summary
Buck retrieved the ointment from the medical kit in silence. He shuffled closer, the sink no longer a roadblock between them, and settled right next to Eddie. As he started to apply it to the gash, Eddie cried out in pain, his body doubling over in retaliation and his head falling to rest on Buck’s shoulder for support.
Time froze.
Buck’s entire body stilled as the warmth of Eddie’s head against his shoulder began to bleed through his shirt and spread everywhere in his body like wildfire. An innocent touch, a response to pain from an injury, but a connection that ignited something inside of Buck.
Or; Buck tends to Eddie’s wounds in a not so platonic way.

Summary
Buck hears the loud sirens closing the distance. Maddie is still on the phone, trying to keep him awake. He feels too exhausted to keep his eyes open, but it's Maddie, and he really doesn't want to die on his sister.
"Hey, baby." A soft, gentle voice speaks out to him, wanting his attention. Eddie.
Buck turns his face to his side ever so slightly and faces him. His boyfriend is here, looking at him with big, soft, hazel eyes. Eddie was suppose to be on his shift, so that means only one thing— they dispatched the 118 to his call.

Summary
Eddie grimaced in sympathy. “You okay? Did you break something?”
“No, no I’m fine,” Buck groaned. “Just hurt like a motherfucker.”
“I can imagine,” Eddie chuckled.
And thus began their weekly ritual of cleaning, talking, and sustaining minor injuries.
