    “Oh, boy,” Jake mumbled, cringing back as best he could while tied to a chair.

    Jake sucked in an involuntary breath, every muscle in his body going tense. He forced himself to keep his arms crossed, not wanting to react and throw the smarmy bastard into the tile. As Vulture left, an uncomfortable silence filled the precinct. Jake could feel everyone's eyes on him, a mixture of shock, anger, and, if he didn't know any better, concern coming from them.

    He swallowed hard, forced himself to relax, and said, "Well, that's the worst thing that's ever happened to me."

    In season 1 episode 5, the Vulture slaps Jake's ass twice. What if this had been treated seriously, and not played for laughs?
