Jim moved away to marry Diane and Joyce stayed in Hawkins to be with Lonnie. Several divorces and deaths later, the pair reunited in 1983 to save Will Byers, Joyce's son. It is now the summer of 1985, Joyce and Jim, or Hopper as he prefers mostly, are friends once more...or so they thought.
