Summary
Cyrus is pretty sure the only reason Jupiter, Saturn, and Mars bother to tell him is so he doesn't hear it from Nanu. Getting important news that way would sting, and while he doesn't mind having feelings these days, he's not exactly eager to chase the bad ones.
“Why Kalos?” He asks, partly to draw attention away from his clumsy card shuffling. He’s given up on trying to mimic the fancy bridge thing Saturn does. They should all just be glad he’s not mashing the cards together anymore.
Usually Mars makes a game out of catching the cards while they’re dealt, but this time she lets them slide past her and right off the table. “You’re kidding, right? I know you’re terrible at jokes, but you have to be kidding.”

Summary
“Despite your failure, you have truly inspired me,” Lysandre says, with actual tears in his eyes. Ugh. “Would that I had influence in the Sinnoh region and could free you from the fools who wish to cage your brilliance…”
Cyrus doesn’t want to be like this guy. He’s arrogant and conceited and very nearly physically painful to listen to, and he keeps talking about how Team Galactic inspired him. He’s calling humans filth and talking about a perfect world and Cyrus hears his own voice echoing from the peak of Mt. Coronet.
If the net result of Cyrus and Team Galactic's plans lead to more people like Lysandre, then maybe they really were wrong, after all.

Summary
It was all the time that Dawn needed to fiddle with her Holocaster, and what was projected next completely threw Corbeau's world off-balance. "So, let’s cut to the chase: I believe you've seen this artifact before, yes?"
How could Corbeau ever forget that framed picture? The ancestral figure depicted in it was the kind you would vaguely remember learning in elementary history class, recognizable in all except for name, but having Dawn here gave Corbeau the hint he needed: it was Professor Laventon, immortalized in the purple, knitted beanie and white lab coat that he had donned throughout his Hisui expedition, the Galaxy Team logo drawn to stand out even with the test of time.
Well, this was the most interesting turn of his night yet, Corbeau mused.
Or: in the tail-end of a luxurious gala, a hasty plan was hatched between two, grieving and lost mentees to bring home a stolen painting, one that held more than just history in its value. Corbeau never thought that he would execute it with the missing Champion Dawn of the Sinnoh region, and that a genuine camaraderie could be born with a mere stranger.

Summary
The train station is under repair for an indefinite time, forcing Yoru to stay in Lumiose City. When night falls, Yoru finds herself caught in a Battle Zone and attempts to escape. Under strange circumstances she fatefully encounters—and saves—Corbeau. He returns the debt by celebrating the Lunar New Year with her.
--“I don’t usually drink. But on occasion, I do indulge.” He swirls the glass with one hand and drinks. Then, he offers it to her. “It’s good. Have some.”
She stares at him for a long second. He is kinder than he lets on. But to go such lengths for me? A complete stranger? It's beyond a mere thank you, like a toast.
Gingerly, Yoru reaches for the glass. Their fingers brush—that second lasting longer than an eternity—and the hands of time whisper for her to take the glass from him.
A fragrant, lemony scent wafts to her nose. She sees a faint mark of where his lips press against the rim, and she sips from the same spot.
